My apple is designed to deter sinners. If the apple, instead of displaying red and shiny it was presented as a dense set of the spikes, would Eve have the same reaction? For this reason the apple is covered by a hard exoskeleton formed by prickly spikes, similar to that of a sea urchin and perhaps with a more pungent odor than a durian. Humans have learned to eat sea urchins and durians, Eve would probably sin the same, but maybe some time later …
